Team WTF?! is a loose association of a handful of Washington, D.C. area autocrossers.  The name was hatched when two of the founding members were doing a course walk in the rain at the DC ProSolo in June 2004.

The Answer is the question.

In true Team WTF?! fashion, it's been over a month since the last WDCR event and there's been no update on the site.

The October 9 WDCR event at FedEx Field was the last of the 2005 WDCR season.  There was some great action and season standings were determined.

Entering the final event in B Stock, John V was leading Clyde by 3 points.  If Clyde were to beat John V, they would tie in points.  Ties in the WDCR series are split first by the number of first place finishes, then second place finishes, then third place finishes.  If there is still no winner, co-champions are declared.  Going in to the final event, John V had three first place finishes and two second places finishes while Clyde had two first place finishes and three second place finishes.  Coming out of Topeka, Clyde was hot, having beaten John V cleanly for the befirst time since mid-summer and was ready to put the hurt on him at the final event.  Both drivers had every reason to believe that the last event would end with them finishing 1-2, but things don't always go according to plan.  Clyde finished in second, but not to John V's, first.  No, John V was back in fourth place with a clean, but very slow, fourth run.  His scratch times on the first three runs were ones that would have beaten the first place car, but John V just couldn't get it cleaned up with speed.  As it turned out, though, fourth place was enough for john to clinch the season championship.  Clyde tied him on points and had a higher average finishing position, but John V won more events...and as the saying should go, you gotta win to win.

In A Street Prepared there was more writing on the wall before the event.  All Nick really had to was record a time to ensure the ASP championship since Ken would be unable to attend.  Bren's early season foibles with off-brand tires and a less than prepped suspension put him too far in back to be in contention at the close of the season.  Nick finished second in the event and Bren in third. For the season, it was Nick, Ken and Bren taking the respective top three spots.  Alex finished back in seventh for the season after having to miss to many events to vie for season end trophy spot.  JST was also struck down by the realities of real life committments and we probably shouldn't even mention him.

So, for the season, as a team, Team WTF?! didn't do too badly, taking the top spots in both classes where they fielded competitors.  1-2 in BS and 1-2-3 in ASP.  There is still one more event to go in the NCC BMWCCA series and Team WTF?! is holding its own there too.  John V and Clyde are tied for second in points in MSS and either could take the top spot (if the team doesn't make their own specWTF class using the Team WTF?! RX-8 at the final event), JST is within striking distance of the third and final PS trophy spot for the season and Nick can do the same in PSS.  Unfortunatley, Alex has done too much class switching to make a trophy run in any class, and the same issues (and a few other unique ones) that beset Bren in the WDCR series have hampered his efforts in the NCC series as well.  If the NCC series was still runing a PAXed Ladies class, Mrs. Bren and Mrs. Clyde would have a good fight going, but there is no Ladies class this year.
