Videos are available Photos are available What would a Team WTF?! expedition to Peru be without some kind of significant issue? (2005 Peru National Tour) It would probably be a trip somewhere else, that’s what. From the zero visibility driving rain in the black of night on the journey out there to a blown up transmission to missing a turn on the way home, it was a Team WTF?! event from before the start until after the finish.
In the Pro Solo practice starts on Friday, the newest member of Team WTF?!, TeamRX8, grenaded the transmission in his STU RX-8. Again. Clyde made the on-the-spot executive decision to claim TeamRX8 for Team WTF?!…and then promptly offered him and DKNV co drive rides in his B Stock RX-8. “What are the odds that he’d blow up two transmissions in one weekend?” Clyde asked. Well, sometimes fortune smiles on the dimwitted amongst us, because despite being taken two wheeling by DKNV, the car made it through 36 Pro Solo runs over the weekend without a problem worse than overheating tires (which only affected TeamRX8 anyway). TeamRX8 finished second in BS. Perhaps if he hadn't overheated his tires Saturday afternoon after redlighting a run, he could have done better. But then how would he play "Woulda, Shoulda, Coulda"? DKNV sixth of twelve in L1 and Clyde finished the weekend in seventh of eight in BS, dropping both time and positions on Sunday (and in true WTF?! form, called it a victory to endure the 10 hour drive home).
